We’re just settling into the new road season, and after the mid-winter slumber some teams have transformed their kits, and in some cases, their team names too. We’re going to pick out 9 of the biggest and boldest changes for you now.

We’ve got to start with the very boldest of the bold. Cannondale Drapac have adopted an audacious shocking pink/neon green combination in their new guise as EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale…to give them their full name. It’s polarised opinion so far among cycling fans. Could it be so bad, it’s good? We must say they’ve done a good job with Kim Magnusson’s National champs jersey.

The last men’s WorldTour team to announce their kit right at the end of January was FDJ…sorry, Groupama-FDJ as they will soon be known. Naturally their new co-sponsor takes pride of place on the front of their new jersey, with a refresh of the French tricolour colourscheme that has become synonymous with this squad. However, because the new deal begins in March 2018, we won’t see the new kit raced until Paris-Nice.
Strangely, the sponsorship deal for the women’s team is different, they’ll still be known as FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope.

There’s just a few of the kits we’ve picked out – but we want to know from you – what are your favourite and least favourite kits of 2018? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. I don't even mind the EF-Drapac kit colors but the helmet coloring makes it look like baby's first bicycle helmet. The Katusha-Alpecin "powder blue" looks like it was white and got discolored during the laundry!

  2. I have always loved AG2R's kit. I think the old one looked better. It is a interesting color combination but i think it works. The old was better b/c there was more white and the brown was as striking. I never would have changed that kit.

  3. Education First-Drapac is painful to look at, and those helmets, lord have mercy, I thought the catlike helmets were ugly, but those POC are just an insult. Best kit hands down is BORA, no question. Willier Trestina looks awesome too.

  4. I'm not fussed by the Movistar kit…until the riders are on their bikes…when it really works. BECAUSE their bikes are painted the same colours and the bike & rider together are the best looking combination on the road. If only more bikes were painted to work with the team kit.

  5. The pink shoulders do stand out and good for them to be eye-catching and they should add a bold EF to the top of either shoulder, but for a team presented by Cannondale, there should be more Cannondale green. It is lame for there to be so little green on a Cannonale team. And as far as favorite, I am starting to favor the white and teal Sky kit and it is sort of funny that the bad guys are trying to look like good guys. And that's a grin, I like Sky but not their 'oops, we did it again' ways and means. And I like a few of the other kits, too, and as for the others, well, there's always a pot of coffee and the drawing board.
