Ever wondered how you can pack and carry all of your camping kit whilst bike packing on a mountain bike? Neil and Blake talk you through their set ups from their recent off road adventure, bike packing in Wales.

You’d be surprised how easy it can be to fit a tent, sleeping bags and spare clothes on a mountain bike, but you don’t necessarily need the specialist bike bags. A backpack will work just as well for a quick trip, the most important thing is to get out there and enjoy it.

Great idea to post a video with packing items. The channel is nailing it.
Thanks for doing this, great video
Salsa Fargo ,
What's the music played in beginning which Pewdiepie uses at the end of his Detroit let's play vid?
🙂
Blake, use a Thermarest Neo Air instead of a roll mat 👍
Awesome stuff as always GMBN
Wasn't it hard to get the water bottles out past the frame bag?
Tip: change your suspension pressure when loaded. First time I went bikepacking, my fork kept bottoming out!
I bikepacked the Old Ghost Road in New Zealand last year. Highly recommended! http://www.bearded-llama-adventures.com/single-post/2017/03/26/I-Aint-Afraid-Of-No-Ghosts
Burning Question: Whats in Neil's hip flask?
Where can we get them tents from ?
Nice Ive seen this setup on inatagram!Nice video
Now that you are bike packing, I would like to invite you guys out to North Dakota, USA to ride the 150 mile Maah Daah Hey Trail, or do it in one day.
I think you should stick to trails and bikeparks… Nobody would dive into the back-country with such a setup. Even for trips in fairly settled areas like the alps, I would take proper rain gear and 10times more food, because the weather can change dramatically fast in the mountains and store hours in tiny villages are not always reliable (especially in France).
Wher to buy mini tend
i use my squishy polygon broadway ( not a fancy bike ), how about doing in-depth videos about the bike packing just like gcn did, great jobs sir!
really keen to get on this sort of riding…and it's good enduro training I guess too at a more leisurely pace !
You guys should check out Wolf Tooth components B-RAD system next time you go bike packing, gives you lots of options for water and tools and such so you don't need a pack! https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/collections/b-rad-products
Lads love this do more!!
Marin pine mountain one i usually use
Neil how does your cable that you use for loading your phone does it looks very handy
Enjoyed the video thanks and I'm tempted with a mini adventure of my own. I heard Blake mention a drone, can I ask what type as I'm interested to see how much space that takes up.
So you didn't bring any sleeping pads?
Good to see you guys giving this a go, this and GCN's videos were both a good watch. Can't wait for your next outing, will be interesting to also see what gear you keep the same and what you change next time out.
Can you tell me if I should buy a stance MTB or a Scott mtb
I've got the same Topeak bags you guys have got. Although I've only used them on my road bike. The backloader doesn't work too well with rear suspension and a dropper post and the toploader doesn't fit into my front triangle. Maybe I've got to get my old 90s steel hardtail out to use it for MTB bikepacking.
Amazing, loved the section where you told us your mistakes. Really helped make my decisions for a future ride. What did you guys do for water? Not a lot of areas around northern Alberta to fill with water within 100km's
Awesome video, thanks! Blake, what kind of drone did you use mate? Going on an 8 month VW campervan trip with my girl and bikes, and I'm looking for a small drone that can shoot great footage.
Did you do that for the money or would you buy that without the sponsoring too?
Can you guys please recomend a good waist hydration pack. Cheers
What is the "Google dongle thing?" Can I get a link? Thanks.
Molto bello complimenti 👍 se ti va visita il mio canale
I’m just now rigging up my bike for camping. I’m making all my own bags and hangers. I even built a front carrier from a ladder rack intended to be mounted on the wall of your garage. It works great and it’s foam covered so it looks great.
I’m using a camping chair bag ; not the chair to stow all my gear in. This is secured by the extra sewn on adjustable straps. Even more straps an I can attach additional bags to this one.
I’ve included four water carriers on the frame for balance and mounted as low as possible for a low CG.
My tent is stowed in my repurposed bag along with all my kitchen and clothing. This is stowed under the hanger in the front and protruding forward instead of perpendicular to the direction of travel.
I am making a curved carrier for the rear to follow the radius of the tire just below the midway point to carry heavier gear.
I have changed the material of my brakes to a composite that has twice the gripping power and life than standard brake pads.
I’ve included a first aid kit, rain poncho and further modified lightweight folding camping chair. Several hundred feet of nylon upholstery thread. One strand will lift nearly 120#. Three strands will lift 400#.
Hi GMBN, could you review the Sonder Broken Road Ti bike for multi-week bike-packing?
