If you have a thinner pair of gloves that arenโt as warm as youโd like for the weather, throw a pair of rubber gloves underneath. We do this in Karting and it helps a ton with keeping heat in.
he's wearing $1000 worth of clothing
Ollie, you forgot the "humble" Buff… ๐
How awesome they are, 3000 ft up Skiddaw and they are worth their weight in Gold ๐ฅ
I used to use a skull cap in colder weather, but recently I've obtained a Gore Cycle Cap with ear flaps which combines the benefits of a skull cap with that of a cycling cap. Admittedly it looks a bit less "cool" off the bike however.
I really like waterproof winter shoes, because they are quick, easy, warm and I can use them all year round on rainy days if I use a pair of thin socks.
I also like my Rapha winter caps.
all i need now is a huge wedge of cash
Not long ago you were raving about the Assos bib tights??
I like to have weather-specific shoes. I have a real collection, including awesome Sidi cold weather shoes.
does anyone have any opinions about clothing from DHB?
Who prefers bibtights without a chamois so you can wear bib shorts or even regular cycling shorts underneath
Ollie, I picked up a Shakedry jacket (based largely on your review). Does the fabric ever need to be retreated with PTFE or Tekwash?
Castelli thermosuit with Expresso jacket on top. Toasty. Northwave winter boots.
Also carry a square of Mylar space blanket for chest if really cold /-5
Ollie what base layer did you have on? I like the thumb loops as putting on a Castelli Perfetto over a long sleeved base layer is a sod.
Wear dishwasher gloves in the cold rain, and wrap your toes in aluminum foil.
OMG ๐ฑ I finally found the gloves you suggested it is deffinetly a must for me when i cycle around the city and fingertips touch screen is very useful as well thank you for the tip. ๐If anyone wondering this is the website that i ordered my gloves https://porrento.com/collections/cycling/products/windstopper-winter-cycling-gloves
unfortunately if I was to wear a size where I don't get bunching on my stomach I would have it be too tight in the chest. im sort of stuck buying a large but needing a medium in length
7:00 min what are those extra cables?
I often find that I can't shift if I wear winter gloves, I miss-shift often and and just in general have really bad grip from anything like the handlebars to water bottles. What I tend to find is that using regular open-finger gloves I use for summer is enough given the conditions I ride in, except for the very extremes of weather.
skullys are lifesavers
Thing is though is not everyone has nearly a grand just for cycling clothing, most people's bikes are around that, one crash and it's all buggered,I got a jacket from aldi and it's so warm ยฃ16
amazing the diverence in clothing compared to 30 years ago.
Great thanks ๐๐ฝ
