Allways great vid's! A hand chain saw!? I never seen something like this here in germany! This is something i need to have! What's the price for this in the US?
I think I have the exact same pack but with the grey on yours is purpley pink
Le mec se balade avec une chaine pour scier mais n'a pas de couverture de survie. Normal.
+Skills With Phil I saw on your video that you were riding in some forest and you came across a tree, so I thought you might be riding on a unsanctioned trail. I just wanted to get your opinion on the subject because I live near to a forest aswell, I'm 16 years old I have a strong passion for mountain biking just like you. However the closest trails near me are banned to mtb'ers and Ive even seen other mountain bikers riding there a few months ago. Since then Ive stopped because I think its moraly wrong to ride there until they make it legal again and I've also even done lots of trail work to get rid of all the ruts and tire marks i made while riding it in the winter and also clearing trees. So at the moment I'm not riding there, but i have pretty much nowhere to ride.
Carry a folding bushcraft saw instead. No serious bushcrafter or survivalist would ever pack a hand-chainsaw. Not worth their weight. Silky or Bahco. 7 inch will take any limb and do it faster than that brick you're carrying.
You totally got that "Tubey McTube Face" from last year's Android dev preview "Namey McName Face" didn't you lol
What's with the dude at the start of the movie
I have the same one but it has purple instead of black as hightlights
What kind of food do you bring on the trails?
what is the quick link for ? I've never had chain problems on the road mostly flat tires
I always carry a decently stocked, but smaller first aid kit with me now (probably stocked a bit overboard to deal with some pretty bad injuries actually). Most of the riders I see dont and it's something more people should have seeing the injury potential and the distance from the trailhead that is often present. Always good to supliment it with a big one in the car as well.
Additionally, I Carry tire levers, a multitool, pressure gauge, food/water, backup battery, extra sealant, tube, and a mini hand/floor pump. It's a lot but it's saved me more than once
Cut a tree? Why don't you just carry your bike over the fallen tree?
I go by the F.A.R.T. rule: Food, Air, Rain gear, Tube.
Very informative, spot on dude…
Well done video. Thank you. the only thing I would have to suggest is a small first aid kit. For me this is an absolute must
Use HAWG, it has more space than mule 🙂👍
Cool video again Phil 👍
Hey Phil greetings from Laredo Texas and kuddos on you channel. I started carrying a couple of Motorola 2way radios with the NOAA weather station on it and waterproof. I hand the other to my nephew due to his being faster than I and as I fall behind we are always in contact. And the weather of course.
Do you just dump all that stuff in the backpack, along with the dirt and shit…
I need to get a spare chain link or two. Otherwise, my "Oh Crap" kit includes pretty much everything you mention here. I also use the M.U.L.E. and I love it. I'm not worried about carrying extra weight. I don't seem to notice it. So I bring along everything all the time. I'm not comfortable with not knowing what I'll need at any given time.
I'm also going to be adding a medical kit soon. This is based off another video from BKXC, who also happened to post a backpack check video today.
I appreciate these types of videos. They always give me something to consider adding to my gear. Thanks, Phil!

Hey man, have you heard anything or ridden the trek Roscoe 8?
the design hasnt been trademarked yet so its just general concept.
im looking for secure suppliers, and interested chains to sale. and the capitial to deliver for sale, concepts complete the scaling has to be designed .
may I suggest the Bahco 396-LAP Laplander Folding Saw instead of that heavy useless "chainsaw". you're mustache will thank me later lol
Id suggest a handsaw such as the corona folding saw to cut trees, its much faster than the pocket chainsaw and also less tiring.
Allways great vid's!
